VISIT TO "THE ASCOT FESTIVAL" HORSE RACES with ROGER

Where better to see horses galloping than at the famous Ascot racecourse - founded by Queen Anne in the year 1711? And what better time to visit it than during the popular festival it hosts each September? The cost of entry to the racecourse is £11 (for entrance to the Grandstand/Paddock). The train fare from London Waterloo should be about £8 for a return ticket.
 

 

Meet your guide for the day just outside the entrance to platform 10 of Waterloo's "British Rail" train station (easily got to by the Northern, Jubilee and Bakerloo underground lines). He will be holding a copy of "How to enjoy London" and so should be easy to recognise. If you are interested in coming along it would help if you telephoned him on...
