Shostakovich is on this evening's bill and it happens to be the anniversary of
Nikita Khrushchev's birth. Instead Esa-Pekka Salonen from Finland will give a
music talk from 6pm before conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra from 7.30pm.
Tonight's programme centres on Mahler, as well as Shostakovich.
