July 15 2001, Sunday, from 9am for 11amHELP CHILDREN IN OVER 70 COUNTRIES - JOIN WALKERS ON REGENT'S PARK STROLLERTHONThe Save the Children website is
calling their tenth 10-mile stroll through London, 'that fabulous family fiesta
of fun, fresh air and fundraising.' And with six thousand people expected it
promises to be just that. The route followed will start at Regent's Park, going
on to the centre of London, then back again to finish in the same park. Their
website puts it another way by stating that it will, 'take in many of the
capital's favourite sights - as well as some little-known treasures.'
Participants get a goody bag with handbook, chocolate and t-shirt (for that sunny weather, we are crossing our fingers for). Starting times are staggered, so the earlier you come the sooner you will be able to get away for other events listed below. Prices: £5 for individuals and £10 for families. Location: south side of Regent's Park, NW1. Nearest tube station: Regent's Park (Bakerloo line). To register telephone 020 7252 4141, or you can register in person on the day (between 9am and 11am).
