August 27 2001, Monday, 1pm and 5pmENJOY NOTTING HILL GATE CARNIVAL WITH FREE-TO-JOIN KIS CLUBMeet international students who are
members of the Kensington International Society (KIS) at their annual gathering
for the Notting Hill Gate carnival. The gathering will take place on the last
and, as they say on their website, .'..the most exciting, day of this three-day
event.' The announcement on their website later goes on to say, 'The meeting
place is the same as in other years - the "Earl of Lonsdale" pub (at the
junction of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove). Members will be standing just
outside it, enjoying the celebrations going past only feet away. There will be
lots of people so look out for KIS members you recognise, or those who are
wearing a KCOF/KIS circular badge or holding a print-out of the free-to-join
http://www.kis.org.uk homepage.'
We suggest you also carry a print-out of the http://www.HowToEnjoy.co.uk homepage, so you can recognise other subscribers like yourself. KIS goes on to clarify and advise, ."..that there are two meeting times to see the decorative floats, dancers, etc as they pass by. As the area will be crowded, please wait for up to half an hour for members to arrive... before being tempted away from the area by the rhythmical music and a new friend. And with so many people - both walking and dancing close to you, it is advisable to leave valuables at home.' Nearest tube station: Notting Hill Gate (Central, Circle and District lines).
