August 4 2001, Saturday, 7pm for 7.15pmFREE, GUIDED TOUR OF "RUSSIAN BAYSWATER" (KNOWN ALSO AS "BRAZILWATER") PLUS VISIT TO SEVERAL POPULAR BARS with PETER HILL, from WalesIn fact, the name comes from "Baynard's
Watering Place" and after seeing some of its beautiful squares, those who wish
can join him to relax in some of the watering holes (bars) he will show you on
his educational, informal and light-hearted guided tour. According to recent
statistics on the http://www.HowToEnjoy.co.uk website: (i) "Guided Tours",
as an event, has jumped two places in subscriber-popularity (from 20th to 18th
place) with (ii) "Saturdays" at 55% and (iii) "Evenings" at 46% being the times
favoured for events by most subscribers - therefore, if the weather is dry, we
expect a good turn-out. So, if you are not helping celebrate someone's 101st
birthday elsewhere, come along for at least a hundred-and-one minutes of fun, in
this trendy and very cosmopolitan part of London. Your guide is originally from
Tenby, a seaside resort in south west Wales. Tenby has become known as the Ibiza
of Wales or, as some call it, the New Zealand of the north!
Peter will also be organising a tour of his hometown, and its beautiful surroundings with lovely beaches and three castles, in two weeks time. You, along with some of your friends, are welcome to join him. Ask him for more details when you meet him in Bayswater this evening. For today's event everyone will meet at the entrance to Bayswater tube station (there is only one entrance!). Bayswater station is on the District and Circle lines. Once again, our group of subscribers will be recognisable at the meeting place as they will be holding white 'How to enjoy London' promotional leaflets. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring your friends - in fact, the more you bring... the better! Please tell them to come on time, as we plan to start the tour at 7.15pm (no matter what the weather is like!). E-mail... the day before, if you have any questions. Better still, contact Peter on his mobile... (handy, if you are a latecomer) before, during or after the event.
