October 21 2001, Sunday, 2.30pm for 3pmFREE CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT, WITH CELLO AND PIANO, PLUS REFRESHMENTSYou are invited to join a group of
'How to enjoy London' subscribers for a day of culture and music followed by
refreshments and sightseeing. Starting in the afternoon, Tuby Turton (cello) and
Peter Hewitt (piano) will perform musical pieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert
Schumann and, of course, something from Franz Schubert. After hearing the cello
and piano together everyone in attendance - including members of "The Schubert
Society of Britain", will be invited for tea/coffee and cakes (and possible
scones, with clotted cream!) in the restaurant.
No need to reserve, just turn up - and bring your friends! Free admission, but there will be a retiring collection - for voluntary contributions, for both the musicians and the refreshments. Afterwards, there will be even more events organised for you. Yes, after a walk though Hyde Park and visiting several museums with free admission, everyone is invited to join many more subscribers for organised visit to South Kensington and Chelsea pubs and bars. Concert address for latecomers: Lancaster Hall Hotel at 35 Craven Terrace, W2. Meeting time and place: 2.30pm at Lancaster Gate tube station (Central line), then everyone will stroll to the concert venue in good time for 3pm.
