February 9 2002, Saturday, 8pm-3amBRAZILIAN "CARNAVAL", WITH SEVEN HOURS OF DANCINGAs if there are not enough
performances to go to this evening, along comes "Carnival 2002", a celebration -
seemingly, of everything Brazilian. With things swinging in Brazil for several
nights and days, it is time to swing here with a fine line-up. Two dance floors
will host 3 DJ's from the Portuguese-speaking South American country.
The seven-piece band "Sombrasil" will be one of the attractions on stage, at some point of the night, along with 25 members of the London School of Samba and a colourful team of Samba Dancers. "Grupo Palmares" will even be doing some Capoeira acrobatics. Brazilian refreshments will be available throughout the night. Admission is £12, unless you get you ticket in advance from Bar Madrid where it is only £10. Location: The Rocket Complex, 166 Holloway Road, London, N7.
