April 4 2002, Thursday, 7pmARGENTINIAN, CHILEAN AND URUGUAYAN MUSICIANS: CZACKIS; CHORNIK AND BALBOA, PERFORM MUSIC-AND-SONG TRIBUTE TO "NUEVO TANGO" FATHER, ASTOR PIAZOLLAThis year marks the tenth anniversary
of the death of composer Astor Piazzolla, father of "Nuevo [New] Tango." To mark
the occasion, three musicians: Lloica Czackis; Katia Chornik and - the recently
seen at Bolivar Hall guitarist - Adriana Balboa, who form the "Triangulo Trio",
will perform a selection of guitar and violin pieces, as well as mezzo-soprano
song.
Included in this evening's concert will be Milonga Carriega (one of three types of tangos) from the opera, "Maria de Buenos Aires." Admission: £10.
