beautiful Richmond with a large group of international students, teachers, etc.
You will have a chance to see the 225-year-old Richmond Bridge (the oldest
bridge in Greater London) Richmond Green, Richmond Hill, Richmond riverside and
Terrace Gardens. There will be a stop made at Captain Vancouver's grave, which
is outside St Peter's Church. It was Captain Vancouver who discovered Vancouver
Island and the reason why there is a place, in the province of British Colombia,
also called Richmond. A stop will also be made at the Orleans House art gallery
- a fine exhibition venue, previously listed here in hteL.
The only cost is 50p, for those wishing to take advantage of the ferryboat crossing, which most walkers will make roughly midway. Afterwards, walkers will be invited to an international party at Gordon's flat where light refreshments (coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc.) will be served. E-mail... or telephone... for more information, if required. No need to reserve - just turn up, maybe with a friend or two! Meet Gordon with friends at 1pm near the WHSmith newsagents, just inside Richmond station. Tube / British Rail / Silverlink Metro Station: Richmond (District line, zone 4).
