May 14 2002, Tuesday, 10am-6pmGALLERY IN GLOUCESTER ROAD HOSTS EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS BY SUSSEX-BORN, MICHAEL BENNALLACK-HART, THAT GRACEFULLY DEPICTS ENGLISH COUNTIES OF DORSET, ISLE OF WIGHT, NORFOLK, ETC., PLUS FRANCE, ITALY, SCOTLAND AND U.S.Today is one of your last chances to
see over 30 city and rural paintings by painter, Michael Bennallack-Hart. Yes,
his current London exhibition of fine art is due to finish tomorrow. In his
mid-fifties, Bennallack-Hart has had three decades of experience in painting the
English countryside and some of his works have been on show in Kensington since
the very beginning of May. Not only has he painted in England, but also he has
travelled further afield – namely, to France, Scotland, Italy and the U.S. Many
of his finest works are included here and, as the press release correctly
states, his pieces are ‘…works of style, harmony and grace’. Bridges, on both
sides of the Atlantic, have been painted. The ones that feature in this
exhibition are Battersea Bridge (20" x 22" at £1,800), Kew Bridge (£1,750, and
already sold!) and Brooklyn Bridge (£975).
London – where the artist has lived and worked for many years - is generously depicted, with scenes from Chiswick and Hyde Park as well as two of the aforementioned bridges. For depth of feeling, our three favourites were "Mountain Landscape, France" (7" x 25" at £1,250), "Dorset Landscape" (20" x 43" at £2,400, and already sold) and "Romney Marsh" (30" x 32" at £2,400). See what you think - drop by to have a look at the fine landscape and cityscape paintings on show. Bennallack-Hart’s other masterpieces in the gallery range from £750 to £2,800.
