Today, "Kypiakh" (Sunday), is the
second and last day of the two-day Cyprus Wine Festival 2002, an event organised
by "Parikiaki" - the Greek Cypriot newspaper. Whilst people, from many countries
and not just from Cyprus and Greece, will be converging on the bazaar's 100
stalls - that offer everything from male, as well as female, fashion and
jewellery to sumptuous wines - there will still be plenty of opportunities to
practise those words you might have learnt on your last Mediterranean holiday.
Previous knowledge should help when you come to try the many wines on offer.
One of the advertised offers is for
a, "Free small bottle of wine for adults until stocks last." And after a glass
or two you could try your palette on a kebabs, many of which will be available.
The brochure, that we picked up, advertising the event highlights the fact that
there will be 'Special Offers!! Special Prices!!" so get along early and stay
late - the best offers might occur just before the two-day bazaar shuts up shop.
The event is being sponsored by a number of companies, including Bank of Cyprus,
Laiki Bank, Star Letting's & Estates and Varosi Lettings/Estates. Admission £3
(pensioners: £2). Location: West Hall, Alexandra Palace, Wood Green, London,
N22. Tube station: Wood Green (Piccadilly line) then use free shuttle bus
service direct to the exhibition.
