November 16 2002, Saturday, 10am-1pmRETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION FOR ARTIST, STAN SMITH, FEATURES SCENES OF FRANCE, HONG KONG, IRELAND, ITALY AND CLOSER TO HOME: CORNWALL, DORSET, SUSSEX, WILTSHIRE, ETC.Over 50 figurative oil paintings and landscape watercolours, by the late Stan Smith, are on show at an art gallery located opposite Chelsea Village and Stamford Bridge football ground. Some favourite watercolours of one person, whom we met at the gallery, are "The Cobb at Lyme Regis" watercolour (34cm x 51cms, £980), "Avebury Ring" (35cm x 54cm, £960) and "Boscastle" (52cm x 34cm, £980). Our favourites are the former, showing detailed stonework and the latter, which is somewhat similar but shows a more distant view that encompasses green and brown hills.
Other paintings include watercolours with
titles such as, "Wiltshire Church", "County Mayo, nr. Ballycastle",
"Scottish Hillscape", "Cornish Port" and "Egg Seller, Hong
Kong" and oils, such as "Italian River Scene" and the larger, "The
Light of Paris." Go along and discover more, before the exhibition ends on the last
day of the month. The watercolours range in price from £500 to £1,280, whilst oils range
