November 10 2002, Sunday, 6.30pm for 7pmROYAL BURMESE SOCIETY HOSTS CLASSICAL CONCERT OF MUSIC AND SONG, PERFORMED BY MEZZO-SOPRANO FROM JAPAN AND PIANIST FROM CYPRUS, FOLLOWED BY RECEPTIONBurgh House is a 299-year-old Grade 1 listed building, located in the north west of London. And this evening it will host a classical concert of music and song entitled "Songs from Japan to the West." Yukako Tatsumi-Margaritoff, from Japan, will sing works by Bizet, Brahms, Mahler, etc., to the piano accompaniment provided by Julietta Demetriades, from Cyprus. Several hteL subscribers are planning to attend, so you should recognise some faces amongst the expected crowd.
The event is being organised by the Royal Burma Society and we are grateful to Gordon Beal for informing us about it. Admission, which goes towards helping Burmese refugees: £15 (concessions: £10), to include drinks. Location: Burgh House, New End Square, Hampstead, London, NW3.
