November 28 2002, Thursday, 6.15pm-6.30pm for 7pmSPEND THANKSGIVING DAY WITH EVENING AT "NEW MUSIC BUFFET", ENJOYING NEW MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS AND REFRESHMENTS AT LONDON'S ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC (RAM)Today is Thanksgiving Day, a time for families - in some countries - to come together and share a special meal. This evening, you have a chance to join Kensington International Society (KIS), an ever-growing family of London socialites for a "musical buffet" at a musical academy. As the name suggests, a "musical buffet" brings music, food and wine together. To find out how they come together, you will just have to come along and meet Gordon Beal (or, if you are unable to meet at the meeting place, go direct to the venue). The details as they were sent to us, by e-mail, are,
'Meet Gordon on Thursday 28 November, between 6.15 and 6.30pm at Regent's Park tube station (Bakerloo Line, Zone 1) near ticket office (or just outside the station if it is closed owing to the fire strike) to go to the RAM in Marylebone Lane (7pm, David Josefowitz Recital Hall, in the basement) for an informal concert of music composed by RAM students, and never heard publicly before. This will be followed by food and wine (included in the ticket price of £3). I still have some tickets for this event, which you can buy from me if you attend the Tibetan concert on Wednesday, or else on the night, from RAM. If Regent's Park station is closed, please note that this station is only one minute from Great Portland Street station (Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines).' Sounds like it could be a very enjoyable Thanksgiving Day in Marylebone Lane this year!
