January 21 2003, Tuesday, 7pm & 8.45pmFILMS FROM IRAN: TWO WORKS BY "MOVIE" DIRECTORS, MESHKINI AND PAYAMITwo quite recent film offerings from Iran are being screened this evening in Hammersmith. The first film is called The Day I Became a Woman / "Roozi keh zan shodam" (2000, 78 mins). Directed by Marziyeh Meshkini, it tells three stories of women, from differing generations. Following it is the somewhat longer, Secret Ballot (2001, 105 mins), which tells the story of a woman's journey - in a world of votes and ballots, alongside a travel companion, whom she meets.
Babak Payami directed this film. Both have English subtitles. Only £5.50 (concessions: £4.50) to see both films. Reservations can be made by ringing the box office on 020 8237 1111.
