February 6 2003, Thursday, 6.45pm & 8.45pmTWO WONDERFUL FRENCH FILMS - DELICATESSEN AND AMELIE - FOR ONE WONDERFUL LOW PRICEA chance to enjoy two classic French films, produced more than a decade apart. We have only seen the first one in this evening's double-bill presentation. But having said this, we have heard so much about this evening's second film that we could safely say it is, 'our favourite French film, which we have never yet seen!' The futuristic "Delicatessen" (1990, 99 mins) is the name of the film to be screened at 6.45pm. Look out for the amusing series of "banging sessions" that occur in the film.
Following the first film is the somewhat longer, Amelie / "Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain" (2001, 120 mins), which tells a warm story of the life of a girl, as she seeks for someone she only knows through a photograph. Both in French, with English subtitles. Only £5.50 (concessions: £4.50) to see both films. Reservations can be made by ringing the box office on 020 8237 1111. Location: Riverside Studios, Crisp Road, London, W6. Tube station: Hammersmith (Piccadilly, District and Hammersmith & City lines).
