In the last few years we have
quoted some impressive statistics for the annual book fair, held in Olympia. And, once
again, there are even more impressive... 10% more pre-registered than the 10,500+ last
year and the number of international exhibitors up more than 30%, with publishers from
Belgium and Greece in attendance for the first time in the fair's 33-year history. Plenty
of book events for bookworms and publishers alike are promised, including several
"new areas of 'specialist interest'" that include Art, Architecture & Design
and Travel & Maps.
There is even a chance to meet Diane Louise
Jordan, signing copies of her book, "How to Succeed as a Single Parent" at
11.30am at the WHSmith shop at the upper-level stand U133. Also on this - the last day -
some exhibitors sell off (very cheaply), some of their displayed books, so keep an eye out
for any you might be interested in, and simply ask, 'How much?' Admission: £20, payable
at the door. Location: Olympia Exhibition Centre, Hammersmith Road, W14. Tube station:
Kensington Olympia (District line or use British Rail). http://www.libf.com
