April 5 2003, Saturday, 6.30pm-9.30pmGREAT LANGUAGE-EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITY! AFTER SUCCESS IN FRANCE, PRACTISE CONVERSING IN ENGLISH & OTHER LANGUAGES AT FIRST U.K. "GOOD CONVERSATION" EVENT, LOCATED AT GREEK CATHEDRALWe have met Joan several times, at a number of events across the capital. And whether it is an art event (her daughter, Sarah - a talented photographer, had a successful exhibition in the Coningsby Gallery in January 2002) or a social event, Joan is always bubbling with enthusiasm. The event, which we recently witnessed her encouraging many people to come to, is on today. It is a three-hour "Good Conversation" event at London's Greek Cathedral, which includes, .'..wine and delicious food', all for an entrance fee of £10. The main purpose of the event - as the promotional leaflet states, is to enable you to, 'Meet dynamic people from around the world and widen your vocabulary.'
And it is not just an event for English speakers, or non-speakers as the case may be, but for speakers of ALL languages and for people who want to practise OTHER languages. A similar polyglot event - also organised by Joan in Paris, France, was successful, so the expectation is for today's London event to be equally so. And - looking towards the future - if you enjoy this evening's event, you will be glad to hear that two Easter parties are planned for later this month. Dress: smart/casual. Admission: £10, to include wine and food. Location: St. Sophia Greek Cathedral (use entrance of Ilchester Gardens), Moscow Road, London, W2. Tube station: Bayswater (District and Circle lines).
