May 3 2003, Saturday, 7.30pmPEGASUS OPERA COMPANY ENDS NATIONWIDE TOUR WITH PERFORMANCE OF DONIZETTI'S "THE LOVE PORTION", WHICH REVEALS USE OF ELIXIR OF LOVE IN JAMAICAN VILLAGEDonizetti's "L'elisir d'amour" has been translated into English by David Parry and been directed and brought to life on the stage by director, Tim Coleman. You have a chance to see it on the third - and final, night it is being performed on stage after a nationwide tour throughout last month. It mainly tells the story of two people: a farmer and factory owner in a Jamaican village - one poor and one rich, with the former being in love with the latter. A love potion is procurred so that these feelings of love are mutal. And you are invited to come along and see the result.
A, 'delightful comic opera...' according to the promotional brochure we picked up recently.
