July 12 2003, Saturday, 10am-4pm (pictures being taken down from 3pm)LAST DAY TO DISCOVER INTERESTING & VERY ORIGINAL ART ON SHOW BY 150+ ARTISTS AT "ART OF IMAGINATION" EXHIBITION, BEFORE IT IS SEEN IN SCOTLAND, NEW YORK & FLORIDAToday is the last day to enjoy an imaginative exhibition of art, called "Art of Imagination" which comprises 156 artists, each with very creative work. Our favourite - though it was hard to choose just one - is Linda Lido's, "Betwixt and Between." It is a mixed media picture, of a colourful scene with depth and one - or two, winged creatures. One characteristic that attracted us to it was the very original black frame - essentially a normal frame, with added "winged" pieces carefully placed all around it. Although we did not meet Linda, we did meet another artist, Cecile Tissot, who told us about a sculpture she had on show... "Demeure des Neiges" - a stone sculpture of two faces, priced at £3,000.
Other works by other artists range in price
from £200 up to £20,000. If you miss the exhibition this year, you can catch it next
year when the touring exhibition expects to add Brussels, Belgium, to the list of stops it
will make. Well worth going along and enjoying! If you happen to be there after 3pm, you
might like to help the staff take the pictures down. Location: The Gallery in Cork Street,
London, W1. Tube station: Tube station: Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria
lines).
