ARTISTS FROM ENGLAND, GHANA, JAMAICA, SCOTLAND & SRI LANKA EXHIBIT AT ROSL ARTS' ANNUAL SCHOLARS EXHIBITION IN LONDON BEFORE BEING EXHIBITED IN SCOTLAND
Today is the last day to see a selection of art, put together with recent winners of the Royal Over-Seas League's exhibition of artistic scholars. The idea is that since the year 2000, five artists from five current or former Commonwealth countries are chosen each year to take part in an art exhibition. Each winner gets a chance to learn something about another country, thanks to a travel scholarship. At the same time - in London and Edinburgh - members of the general public get to see interesting art from a variety of countries. On this occasion visitors, to the salubrious club in St James's, have the opportunity to enjoy works from Britain, Africa, the Caribbean and Asia. Deborah Bowness, from Pontefract (England) has three digital and silkscreen prints for sale, ranging from £125 up to £500. She also has several wallpaper kits at £25 each. Kwadwo Ani, from Ghana, has six oils on canvas on show, ranging in price from £350 to £550. He also has a selection of digital prints at only £20 each.
Ebony Patterson, from Jamaica, has six titled
pieces on show - essentially produced using mixed media - as well as several untitled
pieces. His works range in price from £50 up to £500 each. Christine Morrow, from
Paisley (Scotland) is exhibiting "Soft Serve" - a work created using synthetic
polymer paint on canvas. She also has postcards for sale at 25 pence each. Sudath
Abeysekera, from Sri Lanka has six pieces, all acrylic on either canvas or plywood. Prices
for her works range from £200 up to £750. Go along and discover parts of other countries
