September 20 2003, Saturday, 10am-7pm"FERVOUR AND HUMILITY" GROUP SHOW, ORGANISED BY WHITE SPACE GALLERY, FEATURES WORKS BY THREE RUSSIAN ARTISTS: KLIOT, ROSSINE & SHINKAREVWorks by three Russian artists: Vladimir Shinkarev, Solomon Rossine and the late Alexander Kliot, are on show in London's Cork Street, in an exhibition entitled, "Fervour and Humility." According to the brochure, which we received at the exhibition's private view last Tuesday, "Fervour" is applied to Rossine, who was born in the late thirties, and "Humility" is applied to Shinkarev - born over 15 years later. Another characteristic, "Intensity", is applied to Kliot who - before he died in 1998 - was roughly the same age as his peer, Shinkarev. Rossine - who has previously exhibited widely in France - is showing 18 works, ranging from £1,200 up to £10,000 (though nearly half of them are priced at £1,500).
Shinkarev is showing the same number of pieces,
including our favourite: the 1997 "The Fir-Tree" oil-on-canvas (110cm x 76cm) at
£5,500. His other works range in price from £1,500 up to £6,500. Kliot's works, as one
would imagine, are some of the highest priced. £17,000 is being sought for his 1995
"Hampstead Heath" oil-on-canvas. His other works range in price from £2,000 up
to £12,500. Discover more yourself, make this one of gallery stops today in a street
which is crammed full of commercial art galleries Telephone 020 8740 4675 or e-mail... for
more information, if required. Location: "Gallery 27", Cork Street, London, W1.
