If you are interested in
information management, knowledge management, librarianship, online publishing, etc., you
will not want to miss this amazing exhibition with over 250 exhibiting companies, from all
over the world. Yes, the long list of exhibitors range from companies like ABC-Clio
Publishers and AIIP down through to Xrefer Ltd and ZornRubikon. Enough, you could say, for
information overload - but not if you come as a visitor to the exhibition. Because
throughout the three days of the exhibition, there is a free masterclass and seminar
programme, with some 80 seminars. Everything will be explained in the ever-complex world
of information that we are living in. Today, for example, you could attend Phil Bradley's,
"Writing for the web" half-hour masterclass, in the morning, and Gary Price's
"Web search tools you might have missed" masterclass, in the afternoon.
And today there are also two international
forums, Italian and Spanish, which will be moderated by Lucia Maffei from AIDA, Italy and
Pedro Hipola from the Library Studies Department at the University of Granada,
respectfully. We will be looking in on the latter, having studied at this Spanish
university in the late nineties. The remaining days of the exhibition will also see
French, German and Nordic Forums taking place. Which will you go to? Maybe, if your
languages are not your strongest point, you might attend one or more of the seven or so
daily sessions at the "Specialist Subject Focus Theatre." Admission: £15.
