December 11 2003, Thursday, 7.30pmMANOUKIAN CULTURAL CENTRE CELEBRATES TWO HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY OF FRENCH COMPOSER, HECTOR BERLIOZ, WITH, "BERLIOZ AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES: LISZT; MENDELSSOHN; SCHUMANN & VON WEBER" PIANO & VIOLA CONCERT FOR CHARITYClassical musicians, Gerard Causse (Viola) and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden (Piano) play musical pieces by Hector Berlioz and several of his contemporaries. These, and some of the pieces to be played, are: Franz Liszt's "Romance oubliee;" Felix Mendelssohn's "Sonata for Viola and Piano, First Movement;" Robert Schumann's "Marchenbilder op 113" and Carl von Webber's "Andante et Rondo Hungarese." The proceeds, according to the leaflet we read, are to be given to a charity, 'under the aegis of the Foundation de France.'
