January 14 2004, Wednesday, 6.30pm for 7.15pm-9pm

HOTEL HOSTS CHRISTOPHER ALLAN'S FASHION TALK, "ROBES OF THE REALM," FOR VISITORS, GUESTS & MEMBERS OF "LONDON ASHRIDGE CIRCLE" - SOCIETY NAMED AFTER ASHRIDGE PARK, IN HERTFORDSHIRE

The London Ashridge Circle, named after a College of Citizenship in Ashridge Park, Hertfordshire, was founded in 1949 and each month, between September and May, it organises a general interest talk (amongst many other events, which include music evenings at members' homes and walks). This evening - a month or so before their own AGM (when there will be a talk about the Middle East) - it is the turn of Christopher Allan, who will inform all those attending literally everything about formal ceremonial dress, which includes what we wear at weddings.

So, if you are a fashion buff or simply want to join a society - with a wide variety of events - get along for an educational evening. Admission: £5 (free if you join the society: £30 per year, ending in August). Location: Berners Hotel, 10 Berners Street, London, W1. Tube station: Tottenham Court Road (Central & Northern lines).
