January 24 2004, Saturday, 11am-7pmDISCOVER SCENES OF CHILE, SOUTH AFRICA & WESTERN ISLES PLUS CLOSER TO HOME SUFFOLK, IN TEMBE GIBBS EXHIBITION AT GALLERY IN LONDONS MAYFAIRToday is the last day to see the successful art exhibition of South African artist, Tembe Gibbs. Successful, basically because many of her works have been sold. So, this is probably you last chance to see those pieces, that have been sold, before they head off in the direction of their new owners. The works, we are talking about, include, "Storm off the Western Isles" (mixed media) and Chile's "Atacama Desert." The former is a fusion of dark and light tones and shows hills, mountains and a lighthouse whilst the latter reveals a sky of blue and bronze tones and a sandy-coloured desert.
Both are located in the downstairs part of the
gallery. Suffolk can be seen upstairs in a smaller picture, than the artist's usual style.
It is "Southwold." There are many pictures with South African seaside scenes, of
beaches, of people, even a beautifully crafted one showing a child facing outwards,
towards the horizon. Go along and broaden your horizons, in this gallery of warmth before
the predicted cold weather from the north arrives! Location: 54 The Gallery, Shepherd
Market, London, W1. Tube station: Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria lines).
