January 18 2004, Sunday, 12pm-5pmLAST DAY TO SEE "PAINTED DREAMS" EXHIBITION OF FOUR LATE HUNGARIAN ARTISTS: GULACSY; KOSZTKA; LESZNAI & SASSY, AT HAMPSTEAD'S FREUD MUSEUMThis is the last day to see a two-month exhibition entitled, "Painted Dreams: Tales, fantasy and dreams in Hungarian art of the early twentieth century" which features the works of four late Hungarian artists: Lajos Gulacsy; Csontvary Kosztka; Anna Lesznai and Attila Sassy. They lived in the late nineteenth / early twentieth centuries. All four artists painted imaginative works and visitors to the museum will - not only be able to appreciate the beauty of the works - but discover the psychological meanings behind many of pieces. The event is a part of the "Magyar Magic 2004" event, which is currently on.
We learn that both Gulacsy and Kosztka ended
their lives with mental problems, with the former spending the last 15 years of his life
in a psychiatric hospital. The venue for the exhibition, the Freud Museum is the place
where Sigmund Freud spent the last months of his life. Admission to museum: £5
