March 21 2004, Sunday, 3pmFREE ADMISSION TO "VISION DUO" CONCERT, FEATURING CYPRIOT & EDINBURGH MUSICIANS PLAYING CLASSICAL MUSIC, COMPOSED BY BEETHOVEN, BORENSTEIN, BRAHMS, CORELLI, MOZART & SCHUBERT AT LANCASTER GATE'S GERMAN YMCAEnjoy Mother's Day even more by bringing your mother, other relatives and friends to a free concert of classical music in Lancaster Gate. This afternoon, "Vision Duo" comprising the Cyprus-born, Julietta Demetriades (piano) and Edinburgh-born, Laura Borenstein (flute) will perform: Corelli's "La Follia;" Mozart's "Rondo in G major from 'Haffner Serenade';" Beethoven's "Romance in F major Op. 50" and Schubert's "Impromptu in E flat major D.889 No.2 (solo piano)" before an interval. Afterwards, concert-goers have a chance to hear: Schubert's "Sonatina in G minor Op.137 No.3;" Szymanowska's "Nocturne (solo piano);" Brahms' "Intermezzo Op.118 No.2" and Borenstein's "Nocturnal Fantasia Op.22." The event is being hosted by The Schubert Society of Britain, in association with The German YMCA.
It is nearly three years since we last listed a
Schubertiade concert at the same venue, so we expect a lot of people to turn up.
