DISCOVER SCENES OF COUNTIES CORK, DUBLIN & WICKLOW IN ARTIST, PETER COLLIS' EXHIBITION, "RECENT PAINTINGS: 2002-03" AT MAYFAIR-BASED, JOHN MARTIN GALLERY

Last month we informed hteL GOLD subscribers about Peter Collis' exhibition at the John Martin Gallery in Mayfair. Today is the last day to see the same exhibition, that features scenes of Irish counties, Cork, Dublin and Wicklow. Peter Collis, born in England in 1929, moved to Dublin about 35 years ago. In that time he has painted many scenes of the Irish countryside. One of our favourites is the oil on canvas, "Killiney Bay" (58cm x 76cm). Collis has painted this particular Irish bay a number of times, from differing standpoints and times of the day as can be seen in "Killiney Bay and Sugarloaf" and the somewhat larger, "Killiney Bay from the Hill."

Alongside these, the artist has a number of still lifes on show. Our favourite is "Still Life with White Plate." Prices range from £1,400 up to £4,950. Go along to Mayfair and discover more about Ireland, in what - with St. Patrick's Day, has been a celebratory week in the country.
