June 12 2004, Saturday, 10am-5pm (continues until June 13 2004, Sunday, 10am-5pm)EIGHTEENTH CENTURY GARDEN IN LONDON SE11, ALONG WITH 30+ OTHER GARDENS, FOR YOU TO VIEW BOTH SATURDAY & SUNDAY IN "OPEN GARDEN SQUARES WEEKEND"We recently learnt that a garden, laid back in the eighteenth century - 1794, to be exact - is one of over 30 gardens that are open to the public, on both Saturday and Sunday. The garden is located at West Square, roughly half-way between Elephant & Castle and Lambeth North, two tube stations in south east London. The opening is part of the annual, "Open Garden Squares Weekend," which will see over a hundred gardens (private gardens included!) all over London open to the public for one or two days. It is your chance to enjoy those parts of hidden London, one - in many cases - does not have access to, unless living in the surrounding area. So do not miss it, especially with our current warm weather expected to continue through the weekend.
After you see it, you might like to continue on
to several gardens quite nearby (e.g. garden at Waterloo Millennium Green, garden at
Museum of Garden History and garden at Merrick Square), as one admission price gets you
into all the gardens taking part in this wonderful event.
