July 6 2004, Tuesday, 2pm & 9pmMICHEAL TORKE, COMPOSER LIVING IN NEW YORK, PRESENTS MUSICAL…, JUST ONE OF MANY EVENTS ORGANISED BY "ROSETTA LIFE: CELEBRATING THE VOICES OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH LIFE THREATENING ILLNESS" IN EIGHT-DAY FESTIVAL OF DANCE, MASTERCLASSES, MUSIC, FILM, INSTALLATIONS, POETRY & TALKS IN HAMMERSMITHRosetta Life is an organisation that is, according to its brochure, ‘celebrating the voices of people living with life threatening illness.’ A good cause, you would say! And, over an eight day period, a series of talks, performances and films have been planned. Today sees two musical performances put together by Michael Torke, a composer living in New York. The pieces centre on the topics of acceptance and loss and have been made with the cooperation of people facing life-threatening illness.
