August 22 2004, Sunday, 2.30pm & 7.45pmENJOY RETALLACK’S DRAMA FOR DANCEFLOOR, "BALLROOM" – WITH DANCE SEQUENCES, CHOREOGRAPHED BY MURPHY, PLUS BIG BAND SOUNDS - ON LAST DAY OF NATIONAL TOUR, THAT INCLUDED PERFORMANCES IN BRIGHTON, HASTINGS, HUDDERSFIELD, MIDDLESBROUGH, OXFORD & SOUTHAMPTONToday is the last day to
catch John Retallack’s drama, "Ballroom" which, the promotional brochure states,
will feature ‘up-tempo dance sequences and the magnificent sound of the big
band’. In other words a must-see event for anyone interested in the increasingly
popular pastimes of ballroom dancing and after tea dances. If we were not on
holiday, we would definitely gone along! Three organisations have come together
to help produce the current production, choreographed by Jack Murphy. They are
The De La Warr Pavilion, Linda Lewis Productions and the Nuffield Theatre
Company Southampton.
You have a choice of a
matinee or evening performance… so… as the brochure states, ‘Come along and
unleash your inner Fred and Ginger…’ as many people, around the country, have
done since early July.
