ANNUAL PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM GRENOBLE, JAPAN, MILAN, ROMANIA, ETC - ALL MEMBERS OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS HOUSE’S PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY & TUTORED BY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, FROM SPAIN – LINE UP THEIR B&W PHOTOGRAPHED SCENES OF CUBA, GERMANY, LONDON, SHAPES, TIME, ETC., FOR LAST FEW DAYS

Take a break from the Chinese celebrations; taking place elsewhere, to enjoy one of the last days of the annual exhibition of the International Students House based photographic society. As one would image for ISH, all the exhibiting photographers are as international as the subjects they have photographed. At the exhibition’s private view, held last Thursday evening, we managed to meet and talk to about half a dozen of them… Lily Crespy – a biologist from Grenoble, France, has a fine b&w close up of the Millennium Bridge, taken at night. Whilst the angled view of the bridge is very much in the foreground, the wonderfully-lit St Paul’s Cathedral can be clearly seen in the distance. Marina Spironetti, an Italian of distant Cuban descent, is displaying her extensive collection of photographs of Cuba, shapes and time. When you visit the exhibition, you will appreciate how all Spironetti’s images fit together. Kathrin has two landscape scenes from Germany, including one misty scene showing, what could be, a cow… or is it a cottage? You can decide! Go along and discover more about all these, and other fine works, which have been produced by what seems to be an enthusiastic group of photographers, all who have been helped along by professional photographer, Sol - their equally hard-working and enthusiastic tutor from Spain and who we met at the same event, last year.

We even got a few words with her (about opening times, etc.) after she gave a speech, just after a speech by Diana Grigorescu’s (who was the first photographer - we were introduced to, at Thursday’s reception), near the end of the private view. Last, but not least, we were also introduced to and spoke to photographer, Hiroko Enseki, from Japan. Hopefully, in the near future, we shall be able to tell you about another of Hiroko’s exhibitions – as well as exhibitions of the other photographers. In the meantime, get along to ISH, and see everything for yourself!
