April 14 2005, Thursday, 7.30pmLEVON PARIKIAN CONDUCTS NOVA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA - ALONGSIDE PIANIST, CLARA RODRIGUEZ – IN PERFORMANCES OF NORTH AMERICAN & SOUTH AMERICAN WORKS BY BERNSTEIN, GERSHWIN, NUÑEZ & RUIZ IN CONCERT TO AID, “VENIÑOS” (VENEZUELAN CHILDREN IN NEED)Levon Parikian, this
evening, conducts the Nova Symphony Orchestra, in performances of North American
& South American works in a concert to aid, “Veniños,” the Venezuelan Children
in Need. The planned programme includes: several dance episodes from, Leonard
Bernstein’s “On The Town;” George Gershwin’s Girl Crazy Overture; Juan Carlos
Nuñez’s Anthology of Venezuelan Waltzes and Federico Ruiz’s Second Piano
Concerto. Also performing, at this charity event, is the much-acclaimed
Venezuelan pianist, Clara Rodriguez, who we have seen perform, wonderfully, at
various London concerts in the past.
All in all, expect this
fusion of talents – both in composing and in performing – to culminate into a
