May 9 2005, Monday, 10am-5pm (continues until May 14 2005, Saturday, 10am-1pm)SECOND, AND LAST WEEK, TO SEE PRIZE-WINNING SCULPTURES IN 42ND EXHIBITION BY THE SOCIETY OF PORTRAIT SCULPTORSThis week is the
second, and last, week to see the Society of Portrait Sculptors’ “Face
2005” exhibition, currently taking place in Cork Street. Visitors at
last year’s exhibition may remember the large full-body-size bronze
sculpture, by Czech sculptor, Irena Sedlecka. This year’s press release
- which we recently received from the organisers, discusses four of the
prizes, which are up for grabs. It states, ‘Prizes include The Freakley
Prize for Outstanding Portrait Sculpture of £2,500 for the best three
dimensional human portrait in the exhibition. The Tiranti Prize of £500
for the best sculpture exhibited by a young sculptor of 25 or under…The
Olin-Stones Award of £500 is for the best relief portrait sculpture and
The Pangolin Award is a bronze casting for the best newcomer in the
exhibition.’
So, it sounds a good
opportunity to see the best in contemporary portrait sculpture. Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to May 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
