June 1 2005, Wednesday (continues until June 4 2005, Saturday)LAST FOUR DAYS TO SEE AUSTRALIAN ART EXHIBITION (DE RECOURT ART SHOWING ANGELA BRENNAN) AT LARGE GALLERY IN CORK STREETLast month we
told you about the Australian High Commissioner opening the two-week
exhibition, of drawings and abstract paintings, by the Melbourne-based
artist, Angela Brennan, who’s brightly-coloured talents are appreciated
worldwide, including China, France and Spain. Well, we went along to the
well-attended opening reception, where some of the guests had even
flown-in - from abroad – especially, for the opening event. We met some
of them, along with both, the curator and the artist herself. The
curator, Jane Martyn pointed out to us the fact that all the works were
reasonably priced and very affordable, which – for Cork Street, we would
have to agree. Prices, for the 59 works on show, range from £350 (5) up
to £8,500 (1). We had several favourites, all very colourful. They are
numbered 1, 9, 10 and 20, and you will have to go along to see for
yourself.
And when you do go
along, do take a look at the very original text-based works the artist has
produced. We enjoyed these, and we are sure you will enjoy them too. So, stop
reading this, and get along and see them all for yourself! Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to June 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
