July 1 2005, Friday, 10am-8pm (ends July 2 2005, Saturday, 10am-8pm)AFTER EXHIBITIONS IN FARNHAM, ETON, ELY, CAMBRIDGE, ETC., LAST FEW DAYS OF GALLOWAY-BORN ARTIST, PHILIPPA HEATHER JONES’ CURRENT EXHIBITION REVEALS SCENES OF WINDSOR, VENICE, SCOTLAND, FRANCE, CORFU, ETC., PLUS OUR FAVOURITES, HER RED LOBSTERS!We met and
chatted with artist, Philippa Heather Jones at her current exhibition
last Tuesday, the day after it opened with a well-attended evening
reception. The exhibition, in short, hosts some sixty-eight works, which
range in price from £220, for “Prospero’s Cell,” up to £1,350, for “The
Doge’s Palace.” As you can imagine, there are plenty of artworks to see
on the gallery’s two floors. There are scenes of Windsor, Venice,
France, Corfu as well as scenes from her native Scotland. Our favourite
painting is her “Hill Top Town, France,” (£330), showing a scene of
Montouliers, with buildings with detailed roof tiles, and it is located
on your right, as you pass from the gallery entrance, through to the
back room. We also like two of the already-sold red-coloured, “Lobster”
paintings (£400 each), which hang on the very back wall. They are
visible from the window, which faces onto Shepherd’s Market.
Downstairs, the
southwest Scotland scene, “McLellans Castle, Kirkcudbright” (£300) caught our
attention. But the vital question is, which will catch your attention? Go along,
today – or tomorrow (the day of the nearby “Live 8” concert), and see for
yourself! Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to July 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
