July 24 2005, Sunday, 11am-7pm approxTHAI RESTAURANTS SERVING UP PLENTY OF FOOD AT 11th “THAI FOOD & CULTURE FESTIVAL”… WHILST, ALSO BEING SERVED, IN ONE OF SOUTH LONDON’S PARKS: ARTS & CRAFTS STALLS, CELEBRITIES, GAMES, PROCESSION PLUS TWO, “LUCKY DRAWS,” WITH CHANCES TO WIN FLIGHTS TO THAILANDIt is two years since
we last wrote about the annual everything-Thai event in Battersea Park. As we
wrote, back in July 2003, the event is the time of the year when all the Thai
restaurants in London come together to promote the foods, spices and delicacies
from their interesting country. Needless to say, do come along with a good
appetite! When you get to Battersea Park, you will be able to see, try and enjoy
the many tasty dishes on offer. In addition to the many arts & crafts stalls,
Thai celebrities, games and two, “Lucky Draws,” which take place at 3.40pm &
5.25pm (with chances to win flights to Thailand) there will be music, dance and
even a procession! The media release, which we are grateful to receive, lists
some of the day’s events, like so, ‘At mid-day Thai dancers in traditional dress
swirl through the festival at the head of the colourful annual procession.
What’s more, Thai martial artists will be putting on demonstrations and Buddhist
Monks will be found mingling amongst the crowd.
Children will delight
as watermelons are transformed into beautiful fruit carvings before their eyes
and a children’s play area will ensure that parents can take a break from
chaperoning younger children and escape to the bar.’ So, all ages as well as
sizes of appetites welcome! Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to July 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
