August 5 2005, Friday, 7.45pm-8.45pm & 9.15pm (continues until August 6 2005, Saturday, 7.45pm-8.45pm & 9.15pm)MEXICO’S TEATRO DE CIERTOS HABITANTES ‘EL AUTOMOVIL GRIS’ (THE GREY AUTOMOBILE), WITH ACCOMPANYING PIANIST, PLUS – AFTER PERFORMANCES IN LOS ANGELES, MONTREAL, PARIS & ST. PETERSBURG - LAST TWO DAYS TO SEE TEATRO LINEA DE SOMBRA’S PRODUCTION OF, “DARK ROOTS”You have a choice of
productions to see in Mexico’s current “Mexart 2005” festival of dance, film and
theatre, which was launched at Belgrave Square’s Canning House earlier in the
week. The place to get to over these few days is Hammersmith’s Riverside
Studios, where you can experience the likes of Teatro Linea De Sombra’s “Dark
Roots” (9.15pm) as well as the last two days of the five-day run of Teatro De
Cierto Habitantes’ “The Grey Automobile” (7.45pm-8.45pm), which is accompanied
by pianist, Ernesto Gomez Santana. Experimental work is very much the hallmark
of the former mentioned theatrical group, directed by Jorge A. Vargas and which
has performed in Los Angeles, Montreal, Paris and St Petersburg. Fans of Mexican
silent films will, no doubt, enjoy director Claudio Valdes Kuri’s, “The Grey
Automobile.” Teatro De Cierto Habitantes has performed in Asia, Europe & North
America.
Our suggestion is to
see one production a night – or maybe both, on the same night, and really enjoy
some Mexican culture, all thanks to The Anglo Mexican Foundation, along with Jon
Bonfiglio and Giles Ramsay.
