Saturday 17 2005, Saturday, 11am-8.30pmPAINTINGS BY ACTRESS & ARTIST, BRIGGS – FROM NORTHERN IRELAND - AND DESIGN CONSULTANT, TYLER, ALONGSIDE CLAY SCULPTURES BY TOWNSEND, FROM KENT, IN GROUP SHOW, “FLESH & MORTAR”Northern
Ireland actress and figurative artist, Sarah Briggs (a former student of
fine art at Central Saint Martins) together with her boyfriend – spatial
design consultant, Steven James Tyler, and friend and sculptor, Jan
Tyler, are currently in the Mayfair-based group exhibition, “Flesh &
Mortar,” which ends today. The trio have brought together a fine
collection of artworks, which one ought to see before or after visiting
the, “20/21 British Art Fair,” and/or, “Thames Festival,” which we have
listed below. Briggs and Tyler have, between them, some 40 artworks on
show. Their prices range from £125 for, “Silver Chimney” up to £1,725
for, “Glass Slippers.” Sculptor, Townsend has ten clay-sculptured works
on show, which range in price from £75 for, “Wave,” up to two at £425
each, for “His” and “Hers.” In addition to these, downstairs, you can
see four of her masks, priced at £175 each.
But, before you go
downstairs, as Tyler suggests, ‘…stop for a moment, and look up…,’ and you will
see two of our favourite paintings. They are, “Sunday at Maze Hill,” (£525)
which shows Canary Wharf in the distance and “Morning Glory” (£425), a seemingly
early morning scene of a street and houses. To discover more and to enjoy the
last day of this trio-talented exhibition, get your own flesh and bones over to
the bricks and mortar, which make up Shepherd Market! You will be pleasantly
surprised, as we were when we saw both flowing and highly detailed artworks
alongside those twice-fired masks. Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to September 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
