WALOVA-LEMAIRE, SORE, SIDOROWICZ & MABIRE IN, “ANGELS – A STATE OF PEACE,” GROUP SHOW OF DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS & SCULPTURESLAST DAY TO SEE LONDON-BASED FRENCH/CZECH CURATOR, GIANNAMORE’S EXHIBITION OF THREE PARIS-BASED ARTISTS (THOUGH BORN IN PRAGUE, POLAND & PERU!)… PLUS ONE, BASED ON FRANCE’S SOUTH WEST COAST

There was too much happening – and too many good exhibitions - in London’s Mayfair, to make it in time for the private view of this week’s exhibition at Fulham’s Lennox Gallery. A distinct change, you could say, from last week’s experience! So, it was Wednesday last when we ventured forth - to Moore Park Road, a short walk from Fulham Broadway tube station - for what would be an angelic experience! There we met Karine Giannamore, who is half-Czech & half-French – and who is curating the, “Angels – A State of Peace,” exhibition, through her consultancy, Art Source. The exhibition comprises the works of four talented artists, who have all chosen the theme of angels to put their creativity abilities towards. The artists are Eva Walova-Memaire, Chantal Sore, Hanna Sidorowicz and Eliana Mabire, originally from Prague, Biarritz, Poland and Peru respectively. Presently, though, they all live in France, with Walova-Memaire, Sidorowicz and Mabire based in Paris. So, what of their recent angelic creations? Well, Eva Walova-Lemaire – who signs herself as, “Ewa” – has seven acrylic/oil works on show, ranging in price from £250 for the oil, “Portrait of Angel,” (18cm x 14cm) up to £1,600 each, for two acrylics, “Angel of October, 2005” (100cm x 80cm) and “Golden Angel (April), 2005” (100cm x 73cm). Chantal Sore has 11 works – principally oils on canvas - on show. Prices range from only £180 for the collage, oil and graphite on paper, “Angel, 2005,” (25cm x 25cm) up to £1,500, for two 100cm x 100cm works, with similar titles, “Fishing Angel, 2005” and “Fishing Angel II, 2005.” Sore’s nine other works are all priced at £450 and each measure 40cm x 40cm.

Hanna Sidorowicz has the least amount of works on show, but some of the highest prices! All are, “ink, gesso, pencil, mixed media,” and suggest a lot of work has gone into them. Her prices range from £550, for, “Angel (red), 2005,” (40cm x 40cm) up to £4,500 for one – with four parts - of a series of three, “Angels (series of 4), 2005” (90cm x 90cm each). Needless to say, Sidorowicz’s works are our favourites, and we look forward to seeing future exhibitions she may have in London. Eliana Mabire is exhibiting seven works, three of which form a group of three under the title, “Equinox, 2005,” (150cm to 180cm) and are priced at £1,500. Mabire’s other works range from the same amount up to £1,800 for her mixed media, animated sculpture, “Red Cathedral,” (76cm x 55cm). Our advice, in short, is to go along - and join the angels in Fulham - for the last day! Who knows, in addition to a state of piece, you could come away with a drawing, painting or sculpture.
