November 12 2005, Saturday, 11amAFTER FILMS SCREENED IN SHORT FILM FESTIVALS IN BERLIN, CANNES & EDINBURGH, COMES ANOTHER SERIES OF INDUSTRY STANDARD FILMS – WITH TOPICS, SUCH AS CULTURAL BARRIERS AND ACCEPTANCE – ALL PRODUCED BY LCP (LEADERSHIP, CREATIVE MANAGEMENT & PSYCHOLOGY) EXPERIENCE LTDWe are grateful
for a number of press releases received from The LCP (Leadership,
Creative Management and Psychology) Experience Ltd. This student-formed
company – which we have already written about this month - is part of a
new business learning experience at the Regent’s Park based, “European
Business School in London,” (EBS-L). Recent events, organised by LCP,
have included an art exhibition (reviewed by HowToEnjoy.co.uk, last
week) and a fashion show. One of the press releases received goes into
some detail about this morning’s event… a Mayfair-based Short Film
Festival, which is just one of two LCP events taking place today (the
other being a play, being staged this evening, at the Clink Prison
Museum). The release states, ‘Twice a year the LCP Experience Ltd.
creates a short-film festival at the Curzon Mayfair in London. 8 – 10
independent short films are exhibited and will be judged by a panel of
carefully selected professional directors, editors and other experts
from the entertainment industry.’ The release then goes on to outline
the themes as well as the high standards of the short films, visitors
can expect to see, ‘Building on our past successes, we are now taking on
the theme “Pas de deux”: "Cultural Diversity meets Social
Responsibility". The films will be presented in a variety of genres and
take on a range of underlying topics such as; greed, cultural barriers,
acceptance, sexuality, and religion. Over the last years, LCP screenings
at the Curzon Mayfair have been accomplished with great success and
attracted, among others, the UK Film Council, Momentum Pictures, BBC,
The Bureau, Miramax and Film London.’
The high point of
today’s film festival event must be the fact that – as the press release puts
it, ‘The panel has acknowledged many of the shorts to be at industry standard…,’
as well as the fact that some of the films were shown at, ‘short-film festivals
in Edinburgh, Berlin and Cannes.’ So, why don’t you save yourself time, money
and energy – from going to these European cities, at some later date – and just
head to the Curzon Mayfair Cinema, where you will see some educational
filmmaking, all under one roof! Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to November 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
