November 5 2005, Saturday, 12pm-10pmLCP EXPERIENCE PRESENTS, “PAS DE DEUX,” WHERE BUSINESS STUDENTS FROM HAMBURG, MADRID, MEXICO, MOSCOW & SEOUL (ALL ATTENDING EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL IN LONDON) EXHIBIT PAINTINGS & PHOTOGRAPHS WITH THEME, “SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY MEETS CULTURAL DIVERSITY”A number of
students from the European Business School have formed a company called
LCP Experience, which is in the middle of organising several interesting
events around London. Last Thursday the student-formed company organised
a fashion show at The Collection on Brompton Road. Next Saturday sees a
Short Film Festival at the Curzon Mayfair Cinema as well as a theatrical
play, on London’s South Bank, at the Clink Prison Museum. Two days
later, on November 14th sees a Music Concert at 10 Room on Air Street,
near Piccadilly. And what about today? Well, today is the last day of a
one-week art and photography exhibition at a gallery within Mayfair’s
pedestrianisied Shepherd’s Market. We went along to the opening
reception last Monday, where we met most of the contributors – both in
the context of student artists and student PRs (along with their
assistants). We enjoyed what we saw, which was a variety of
black-and-white photography, collages and paintings by five student
artists: Carolyn Thomsen (Hamburg); Ana Sanz (Madrid province); Pamela
Villaseñor (Mexico); Evgenia Lazareva (Moscow) and Choi Yunkyong
(Seoul). Prices are inexpensive, starting from £35 each for a framed
photograph.
Topics range from
Lazareva’s b&w photographs of a London march (on the gallery’s ground floor) to
Yunkyong’s large and colourful paintings of flowers (on the gallery’s lower
ground floor). Ana Sanz, an exchange student from a Madrid university, has
captured scenes of Paddington and Regent’s Park in her b&w photography. We like
Thomsen’s two works, facing each other, which you can see to your left and
right, just after you enter the gallery. And we also liked Villaseñor’s large
work downstairs, a large display case with photographs, lit up from the back. Go
along and discover more for yourself, both about the current exhibition and
about the company’s forthcoming event. Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to November 2005 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
