If you like Bizet's, "The Pearlfishers Duet" and/or Waldteufel's,
"Hansel and Gretal Overture" plus a dozen other musical classics -
including our favourite, Verdi's, "La Donna E Mobile," - then make a
special New Year's Day effort, to take a trip (yes, those tubes may
still be on strike) to get to the Barbican, this afternoon. Why? Well,
there promises to be a thoroughly entertaining gala, thanks to the
London Concert Orchestra.
Accompanying the Orchestra are Adrian Dwyer (tenor) and Simon Thorpe
(baritone). Conductor for this afternoon's extravaganza is Anthony
Inglis. Some of your favourite tunes, like, "Nessun Dorma" and "Land of
Hope and Glory" are also to be played. We hear also that a complimentary
drink is on offer to those who purchase the higher priced tickets. If we
were in London, we would definitely want to get along to it.
