January 10 2006, Tuesday, 11am-6pm (continues until January 14 2006, Saturday, 11am-6pm)PHILIPPA HEATHER JONES’ RETURNS TO SHEPHERD MARKET WITH PAINTED SCENES OF ALBANIA, GREECE, HESTAN ISLAND, ETC., PLUS – CLOSER TO HOME - HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT & WESTMINSTER ABBEY, ALL AT GOOD PRICES
Back in Shepherd Market, just over six months after her last exhibition
(at the same gallery), is Kirkcudbrightshire artist, Philippa Heather
Jones, with about five-dozen paintings, which include French, Greek and
Italian landscapes. In fact, one of her interesting landscapes literally
hits you, as you enter the gallery. It is her, “View to Albania,” (£260)
and is to your left, as you enter the street-level gallery. Just above
it is her, “Koloura, Corfu,” which is priced slightly less, at £250. In
fact, when compared to her last show, in this exclusive part of Mayfair,
her prices appear to have come done. Prices now range from £150 for,
“Orchids” up to £800 for, “Dorney Boathouse” (In June/July, of last
year, Philippa’s paintings ranged from £220, for “Prospero’s Cell,” up
to £1,350, for “The Doge’s Palace.”). So, it seems, this week would be
the best time to buy a Jones, for your wall! What about a, “French
Village,” (£250) scene or some, “French Red Onions” (£200)? If these are
not your taste, then there are, “Greek Boat” (£300) and “Greek Boats in
Harbour” (£500). If you want something closer to home you could always
have, “The Houses of Parliament,” and, “Westminster Abbey,” for only
£500 and £720 respectively.
Or, as Philippa does do commissions, you could get her paint your
present abode. The decision is yours… if it were ours we would probably
choose Scotland’s, “Hestan Island” (£300) or, as we love fruit so much,
her spring toned, “Melons” (£500) would go down well, maybe in the
dining room. Promote YOUR event, for free! | Return to January 2006 ArchivesSubscribe to, "hteL FREE-TO-ATTEND," only £59.80 per annum |
