February 1 2006, Wednesday, 1pm-6pm / talk: March 11 2006, Saturday, 4pm (exhibition continues until March 12 2006, Sunday, 1pm-6pm)NEW YORK-BORN DIANN BAUER’S ALUMINIUM-INSPIRED, “bludgeonerator,” ON BONNER ROAD’S, “THE SHOWROOM”
A press release, recently received from east London’s The Showroom,
discusses the venue’s latest exhibition, “bludgeonerator,”
‘bludgeonerator, Bauer’s ambitious new work for The Showroom comprises a
large, elaborately detailed wall drawing, executed on aluminium panels
forming a wall that cuts into the gallery space. In this way, by
blurring the boundaries of where the work ends and the gallery space
begins, bludgeonerator plays with our expectations of the distinction
between work and built environment.’ Go along and discover more about
this. In addition to aluminium-inspired art there is a talk… On the
second-last day, Andrea Tarsia (Head of Exhibitions at The Whitechapel)
will be present to give a free-to-attend talk about the artist and her
current exhibition. Sounds interesting and educational.
