June 19 2006, Monday, 10.30am-6pm (continues until July 1 2006, Saturday, 10.30am-6pm)ZIZI GALLERY SEES TWO-WEEK SHOW OF EYE-CATCHING DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS BY KENT-BORN PHOTOGRAPHER SUSANNAH HUBERT, ALONGSIDE - WIDELY EXHIBITED IN DORSET & HAMPSHIRE – ABSTRACT SEMI-PRECIOUS PAINTINGS BY OXFORD-TRAINED SAMANTHA BUSH
We are grateful for a press release, recently received, about the
painter, Susannah Hubert and the photographer, Samantha Bush. It begins,
‘After two successful seasons together in @Slepe as part of the
extremely popular Dorset Art Weeks the artists Samantha Bush and
Susannah Hubert have teamed up to bring a stunning new collection of
their works together, in London for the first time.’
The release continues, by delving into the backgrounds of the two artists, ‘Samantha Bush is an established and well known abstract painter working in the New Forest and Dorset. Trained in Oxford and tutored by Brian Graham, Samantha’s abstract paintings are inspired by the natural landscapes and the archaeological imprint made on the land by ancient man. Her high quality canvases use a varied palatte and are often highly textured and include semi-precious stones to symbolise the treasures that lie beneath the surface… Contrasting with Samantha’s traditional painting methods we are brought up to date by Susannah Hubert’s digital photography. Susannah produces her work on large scale stretched canvas and in the present @Slepe3 exhibition in Dorset she has included an eye-catching 30 foot high print of one of her most popular recent works. A life long interest in the photographic image has lead Susannah from a Kodak Instamatic though a career as a City broker to her latest phase as an exciting new force on the London photographic scene.’ All in all, it sounds like a must-see exhibition!
