August 29 2006, Tuesday, 12.55am-1.40amHIGHLIGHTS NOW, ON CHANNEL 5… “FARAH,” BRAND, BELONGING TO WITHAM-BASED MANUFACTURER OF, ‘STYLISH & FUNCTIONAL GOLF CLOTHING,’ PERRY ELLIS EUROPE, WAS ONE OF KEY SPONSORS OF 50th PGA SENIORS CHAMPIONSHIP, PLAYED OVER THIS BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, AT STOKE BY NAYLAND (ESSEX)
We are grateful for a press release, recently sent to us. It begins,
‘Following on from the launch of its new range of stylish and functional
golf clothing, Farah is delighted to announce that it will be one of the
key sponsors for the fiftieth PGA Seniors Championship.’ The release
continues, ‘By far the longest established of all the events on the
European Seniors Tour, the PGA Seniors Championship celebrates 50 years
by returning to East Anglia for the first time since 1979. Local
company, Farah, based in Witham has agreed to a sponsorship deal
incorporating high profile advertisements across the first three and
last three holes and a high profile presence in the tour brochure.’
The press release ends by saying, ‘Farah Brand Development Manager, Ben
Muis, commented: “We are extremely excited to have this prestigious
tournament taking place on our doorstep and feel that this association
was an opportunity not to be missed. We will have a significant presence
within our target market and the televised coverage will extend this
reach even further.” Having had the opportunity to work with and dress
some of the greatest in the game, Farah has been credited with being one
of the first brands to bring fashion to the golf course. The Farah Golf
collection comprises high quality products that perform consistently,
allowing the golfer to concentrate on the game in comfort and in style.’
Sounds like great clothing, especially with the varied and, at times,
inhospitable weather which golfers regularly face, especially on those
links golf courses, spread along the coasts of Britain and Ireland.
